Be You!

Got it! Negative padding worked for now, though will need to find a more suitable method, maybe its own seperate div, because currently it is part of the same div as the latest projects, meaning each additional project will push it further down … but it works for now so that is awesome

Damn!! It is so much more difficult than expected to just place the button into the footer. Hopefully a negative margin or padding will help

Realised navigation back to the main page was mysteriously missing from the portfolio beyond the top nav, so created a return button to be integrated into the footer design. Will adapt further at another stage to make it appear pressed /hovered on so it isn’t so static, but for now this will work.

The final design layout! Getting kicked out of studio by those dang security guards so had to skip a heap and just jump to the chase. Will put on a few screenshots of the acutal site tomorrow, and explain a few decisions and issues, but for now feel free to check out the semi-progressed but still mostly functional altBRAnD Architecture and Design Portfolio!!

The wireframe for the final layout. Went through a few minor changes to adapt it to the desired theme, but as the majority of initial planning was focused on the jquery header, the theme just slid into place beneath that. The main adaptions come with the defining of the sidebar, resizing of all the elements so they fit within the 900px frame, and the complete creation of a fat footer.

From the start was highly unsure whether the jquery header would happen due to desire to focus on getting content and other base elements in first, however it will be developed at a later stage after the hand-in … call it continual development for stage two.

So… th portfolio is being developed via wordpress, with the chosen base theme being the Imbalance theme by WPShower.

While very plain and simple, the capabilities for the theme to support jquery and its initial focus upon the image gallery seemed to call out to me, though of course a huge amount of development work was needed to get it to begin resembling the base concept within this head of mine.

Portfolio Development

Okay, so been going nutty on building up the altBRAnD portfolio website, and now it has come to get up that documentation, show the process, the outcomes, and those annoying problems that needed to be resolved. Hand in of this stage of the portfolio is tomorrow, however continued development upon the site will occur once the final year architecture project is finally done.

So bring on the screenshots, the wireframes, photoshop, and the web design, it’s going to be a good night!
